About Ethan
I truly enjoy the way adolescent and young adult minds work – the questions they ask, the perspectives they take, and the ambition they can possess. We know that childhood and adolescence shape our future, but healthy, positive, and goal-oriented decisions need to be made. While the importance of this cannot be overstated, we also know that life events, social interaction, and trauma can complicate this. I believe in building a strong therapeutic relationship and working together in an empathetic and non-judgmental setting to achieve goals, manage conflict and relationships, and build confidence. I specialize in working with adolescents and teens – social issues, anxiety, trauma, and learning disabilities of all kinds. One of the core approaches I use is cognitive behavioral therapy for teens and adolescents, which helps young clients develop practical tools to manage stress, reframe negative thoughts, and improve emotional regulation. We work to foster tools for coping with stress, managing interpersonal relationships and conflict, and tangible problem-solving skills. I also work with parents on supporting and communicating with their adolescent children. Building a strong relationship is the foundation of our sessions. With empathy, understanding, and a judgment-free environment, we will tackle real-life problems and approach situations from a solutions-focused perspective. I work to bring clients to moments of realization regarding their own beliefs, thought processes, and patterns in communication.
