About Heather
As a social worker, my role is to support individuals and families through challenges, connect them with the resources they need, and empower them to build on their strengths. I meet people where they are—without judgment—and help them navigate life's difficulties, whether it's emotional, financial, or social. My primary focus is diverse, underserved communities. I have experience working with those experiencing depression, anxiety, and trauma. I have a special fondness for the LGBTQ community, and I use evidence-based approaches which include CBT, motivational interviewing, and attachment based family therapy, which helps strengthen relationships by addressing family dynamics and emotional bonds. I offer emotional support by creating a safe, confidential space to talk through personal struggles and develop coping strategies. Whether someone is in crisis or just needs a little extra support, my goal is to be a consistent, reliable presence in their corner. I build empathy by creating a safe, non-judgmental space—even before a client ever contacts me. This means speaking to their emotional experience with warmth, understanding, and clarity. I also invite them to reach out by being approachable, transparent, and compassionate in my messaging. Many people hesitate to reach out because they don't know what to expect, or they worry they'll be judged or rushed. I reassure potential clients without pressure and make initial contact feel safe and concise. My messaging will give clear, welcoming contact options and say exactly what they can expect after reaching out.
