About Jill
Jay Salerno is a Licensed Social Worker with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Caldwell University and a Master of Social Work from Rutgers University. Jay has specialized experience treating eating disorders at higher levels of care at The Renfrew Center of Northern New Jersey. Jay is committed to providing inclusive, affirming care for LGBTQIA+ adolescents, young adults, and adults. Their clinical focus includes eating disorders, body image concerns, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. Jay is passionate about working with individuals who wish to heal their relationship with food and their bodies. Jay aims to create a warm, nonjudgemental space that allows patients to feel safe enough to explore their feelings. Jay takes a whole‑person approach, honoring the unique experiences and identities that shape each individual and empowering clients to take an active role in their healing. Their therapeutic work integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Person‑Centered Therapy, grounded in a Health at Every Size (HAES) framework.
