About Kristine
Kristine Bushong is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) dedicated to helping children, teens, and their families feel truly seen and supported through their healing journeys. With a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach, her goal is to create a safe space where clients can take a deep breath and know they don't have to navigate their challenges alone. Prior to transitioning to clinical mental health, Kristine spent over a decade as a Certified School Counselor. This extensive experience gives her a profound understanding of the complex social, emotional, and academic environments where youth spend their time. It also provides a strong foundation for her clinical focus in treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, school refusal, bullying, and executive functioning challenges. Kristine believes that healing is a collaborative, multitiered process that involves the whole family system. Operating from a strengths-based framework, she helps clients uncover the resilience and skills they already possess. To build each client's unique toolkit, Kristine integrates evidence-based strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and mindfulness practices. Kristine holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Ramapo College of New Jersey, a Master of Arts in School Counseling from Montclair State University, and completed her Post-MA Professional Counseling Licensure program at Caldwell University.
