About Simena
Simena Carey is a Licensed Associate Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Health Education minor at Kean University. She also received a Masters of Arts in Counseling at New Jersey City University. Her passion and specialty is helping adolescents and adults navigate through life adjustments that may cause symptoms of anxiety or depression. She also aims to improve mental health by building independence, identifying and creating areas of support, and using effective communication skills to guide clients onto the intended area of healthy living clients may seek. Her approach to treatment includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person Centered Therapy (PCT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and a variety of clinical interventions that include stress management skills and other forms of support.
