About Toni
An ideal client would be someone who is insightful into their mental illness, comfortable being vulnerable and honest, as well as someone who is motivated for treatment. For those who lack insight about their mental illness, it would be my hope that the client is open to psychoeducation. I work well with those who are dealing with symptoms of anxiety, depression, grief, and/or helping those diagnosed with PTSD identify healthy coping skills when their triggers arise. The client would learn to cope with their stressors in a healthy way and utilize tools learned in therapy to achieve wellness. I provide individual therapy for depression, anxiety, grief, and PTSD, helping clients develop emotional resilience and effective coping strategies. I validate the client's feelings toward a specific stressor and maintain a safe and inclusive environment so they can share their thoughts and feelings without fear of being judged. I also have experience assessing clients and determining the most appropriate level of care to meet their needs. This allows me to connect clients with the most effective treatment options. Being a young adult myself, I find it especially rewarding to work with clients in their late teens, 20s, and 30s, as I understand firsthand how current social, economic, and political issues affect this age demographic. Despite this, I have worked with adults of all ages—from 18 to 82—which has strengthened my cultural competence and deepened my understanding of how generational norms shape thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It's easy to feel alone in the issues you face, whether from the past, present, or future. Everything you've experienced has shaped who you are today. Your thoughts, emotions, and actions are valid. It's important to find a healthy outlet to channel those experiences. Through individual therapy for depression and other mental health challenges, you'll find a safe space to express yourself freely and receive supportive, non-biased feedback. As you build a strong therapeutic relationship, you'll begin to challenge unhelpful thoughts, reshape core beliefs, and ultimately experience the positive changes that come from aligned, healthier thinking and behavior.
